Transgender model Munroe Bergdorf made history earlier this week when it was announced that she would be the face of a L’Oreal UK campaign. In a matter of days, Munroe Bergdorf went from posting her excitement to calling for a boycott of the company. L’Oreal Paris UK announced its partnership with the London model was ending after a comment she posted a Facebook comment beginning with “‘Honestly I don’t have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people.” That comment has since been deleted but not before the internet could spark up a controversial debate. Some called the firing fair while others claimed that it was too quick of a firing.

L’Oréal champions diversity. Comments by Munroe Bergdorf are at odds with our values and so we have decided to end our partnership with her.

Munroe Bergdorf fired back directly on facebook stating , “When I stated that ‘all white people are racist’, I was addressing that fact that western society as a whole, is a SYSTEM rooted in white supremacy – designed to benefit, prioritise and protect white people before anyone of any other race. Unknowingly, white people are SOCIALISED to be racist from birth onwards. It is not something genetic. No one is born racist.”

These comments in my opinion, MY OPINION, MY OPINION, MY OPINION !! were not hate fueled or meant to harm anyone or promote any type of negative feelings. While I hate to see sis lose her job, I would have called for the firing of any white person who would have made comments deemed to be remotely racist or offense . Fair is fair. Coins first! I probably either would not have said it directly or found better words. IJS! However, I’ve seen police officers kill black people in HD for the world to see and they walked off into the sunset so does fair even exist anymore? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
