Messy Jeffree! During his rise to YouTube/Makeup guru fame, controversy has followed Jeffree Star around like a lost dog that won’t go away. You may recall his spat with former bestie Kat Von D who accused him of being racist, negative, a bully and a promoter of drug use! YIKES! Then there’s the videos that surfaced a while back of him spewing all types of disgusting racist comments. To be fair, the videos were from years ago but still horrible nonetheless. In true Drama queen fashion he was recently involved in another spat with popular YouTube’r and beauty Guru Jackie Aina. In April, she revealed in an anti-haul vlog that she doesn’t use Jeffree Star cosmetics. Later there were some messy tweets sent back and forth( Some of which have now been deleted). Twitter went up in flames and the rest was twitter beef history.
After the dust has settled Jeffree is apparently sorry and issued this apology via his YouTube channel.
Yesterday, Star released a YouTube video to discuss the comments, apologize, and tell his side of the story “from human being to human being.” In his formal apology, Star states “I am so sorry for my words. I am so sorry you ever had to see me like that…that is not who I am and I apologize deep down to the core of my fucking being.”
While this is not the first apology we’ve had from Jeffree Star this seems to be the most sincere. I’m totally Team Jackie , but there’s no point in crying over spilled milk and he apologized. Jeffree Star makes amazing products, but I wont be throwing any of my coins his way although I do respect his efforts. There are a lot of brands out there that continuously make great products without the side of raging racist drama. What are your thoughts on his apology ? Will you continue to support his product?
