How often should I replace my beauty blender?
This is a question I get asked often so here are some signs that will let you know when it’s time to replace your beauty blender as well as tips on how to make your beauty blender last a bit longer. Not replacing your beauty blender will inevitably leave you with clogged pores and break outs and nobody wants to deal with that if they don’t have to. I take pride in my skin and I try to care for it the best I can, knowing when to replace tools especially makeup sponges is a big part of that.
Signs that it’s time to change your beauty blender:
- Once your beauty blender has begun to rip or flake, its times to replace it. Once it’s peeling and ripped it will no longer be able to keep a shape and the functionality is highly compromised. There is no way that your makeup application will be even! Before it begins to peel you may notice that the surface looks more porous than usual.
- If you know that you have eaten right, been properly caring for your skin and drinking plenty of water but you’re still having unexplained breakouts, there is a good chance that your beauty blender is the culprit. Throw it out!
- When you wash your makeup sponges but they stay discolored, that’s a good sign that it’s time to replace. Of course the color of your bright pink beauty blender will fade over time but when it gets to the point that the sponge becomes saturated with makeup stains that will not rinse off even after cleaning, time to replace!
If you were makeup several times a week I suggest replacing your makeup sponge every 21/2 to 3 months but certainly not longer than three months. Always replace your sponge after a bad cold or breakout.
Cleaning your beauty blender after each use is not only hygienic; it prevents too much product from building up inside the sponge causing it to become hard and impossible to clean
How to clean:
